Is BeyondRead useful for a class, a book club or a reading challenge?
Yes, in three ways: every public-domain set text is free for everyone in the group, each reader can ask about a sentence privately instead of stalling, and AI Digest gives the shape of a book before a discussion. Quote cards make it easy to bring a line to the meeting. Browsing and reading need no account.
Students and teachers
A set text that is public domain costs nothing for the whole class. Students read on their own phones, select what they do not understand, and get an explanation in the context of that chapter rather than a summary of the whole book. Reading, bookmarks and quotes work offline, so it works on the bus.
Teachers can point to the same free download for everyone; there is nothing to license.
Readers whose first language is not English
Translate works on the selected passage with its context, so period English comes out as meaning. The app’s own interface is available in nine languages.
Book clubs
Everyone reads the same free edition. AI Digest gives the outline and main ideas before the meeting; the Chat mode answers the question you were embarrassed to ask. Save the lines you want to discuss as quote cards.
Reading challenges such as Victober
Victober, the October Victorian-literature challenge, picks group reads each year; the 2026 titles Uncle Silas, Carmilla and Jekyll and Hyde are in BeyondRead’s library. Any public-domain challenge list works the same way: search the title, download, read.

Questions people ask
Does everyone need to pay?
No. The app, the library and reading are free for everyone. Only the AI features beyond the free allowance cost anything, and that is per person, optional, and shown in the app.
Can a school deploy it?
It is a normal App Store app for iOS 17 or later; there is no separate education licence. Accounts are only needed for AI features.
Does it sync between devices?
Books and reading data stay on the device. Library books can be downloaded again on any device; keep copies of your own files.
