BeyondRead · Guide
How much does BeyondRead cost?
Nothing to download, and nothing to read: the app and its 20,000-book classics library are free and need no account. AI features need sign-in; the free plan includes AI translation with a monthly fair-use allowance, 10 AI chats a month and 3 whole-book digests to keep. For more there are optional monthly subscriptions or one-time top-up packs whose credits never expire. Prices are shown in the app, in your currency.
Free, forever
- Downloading the app.

The free AI plan
- AI translation of selected passages, with a monthly fair-use allowance.
- 10 AI chats a month.
- 3 AI Digests to keep.
Sign-in is required for AI, because the requests go to a server.
Paying for more
- Optional monthly subscriptions for regular readers.
- One-time top-up packs: credits that never expire, for readers who want AI occasionally.
Prices, allowances and renewal terms are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency. There are no ads and no third-party tracking.
Privacy, since it is part of the price
Books, highlights and AI history stay on your device. Only the selected passage and a little context are sent to get an answer. You can switch AI off entirely.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Is there a free trial?
There is a permanent free plan rather than a trial: the library and reading are free, and the AI has a free monthly allowance.
Do top-up credits expire?
No. Credits bought in a one-time pack never expire.
Will I be charged automatically?
Only if you choose a subscription, which renews through the App Store and can be cancelled there. Top-up packs are one-time purchases.
